What are the five words that people would use to describe you?
Friendly, Conscientious, Helpful, Analytical, Picky Eater
When did you know you wanted to be in technology?
1997, the first time I used AOL Instant Messenger during my freshman year of college. I thought it was amazing and was intrigued with technology ever since.
What would people never guess about you?
I’m also a knitting designer (yes, that’s a thing), designing garments and writing knitting patterns.
What motivates you?
I enjoy helping people, and trying to make their day better in some way. I’m also really driven as a problem-solver - I won’t stop until I figure out a solution.
What is your favorite FM project and why?
Pearl App analytics reporting was a really interesting project - I enjoyed analyzing the metrics each week and digging into the numbers to better understand how people were using the app and utilizing the data to see how we could make improvements.
Where do you look for inspiration?
Maine is such an inspiring place to live - I feel so lucky to be able to live and work here.
What are you afraid of?
Snakes. And running out of coffee.
What’s the last book you read?
Does an Audible book count? I tend to “read” this way so I can knit at the same time :) One of the last ones I listened to was “Overdressed: the shockingly high cost of cheap fashion.” It’s a topic near and dear to my heart.
What’s the most memorable place you’ve been?
Moving across the country, from California to Maine was a pretty memorable experience. And since we were towing my husband’s 1966 Volkswagen Bus, we had to drive pretty slowly - seeing the country at 50 miles per hour takes a while but you get to see a lot of sights.
What are the top five songs you would put on your playlist?
Just 5 is hard! So I’ll stick with my classics - these 5 have consistently been in the top for me for the last 15 or so years:
- Franklin’s Tower - Grateful Dead
- Parachute - Guster
- Airport Song - Guster
- Bad - U2
- Clumsy - OLP
Where do you want to be in 10 years?
Life has taught me to live more in the moment so I don’t try to dream too too far ahead like that . But I’ll say this - in 10 years I do hope to own a dishwasher that puts the dishes away for me after they’ve been cleaned. Seems like something that should have been invented already, don’t you think? I find it’s best to look at the future with a sense of humor :)
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
My husband, Jeff. I could write a whole book about how inspiring he is and what an influence he’s been in my life since I met him over 14 years ago. And he’s always been my biggest cheerleader and given me the confidence to do anything I’ve ever wanted to do.
