FinTech and mobile payments: Smartphone dominance has driven a growth in mobile payments, which are expected to grow by more than 33% per year, according to Allied Market Research, becoming a $4.5 billion market by 2023. Forrester predicts that mobile e-commerce sales will increase to $3.5 trillion in 2021. One example, according to eMarketer, is that grocery app usage will grow by 50% this year in the US alone, from 18 million users in 2018 to 30.4 million in 2022.
